Halbach Field Dedication

Description:
The ball park, which opened in 1925 south of Woodward Avenue and west of Pine Street, acquired lighting and a grand stand after Detroit Edison Supervisor Fred Halbach raised funds for improvements in 1936. To honor his commitment, the field was officially named Halbach Field on June 24, 1936. (P-191) [date is approximate] Photograph Collection
