Black and white photo of the State Street face of the Edison Building on the southeast corner of Washington Boulevard and State Street, taken during its conversion from the Edison Illuminating Company's Station A to the company's offices, from across State to the northeast. Several windows, and in some cases, the surrounding brickwork have been removed, and workers are visible inside. A construction canopy has been erected above the sidewalk along State Street. A sign for a loan office is posted on the Sun Building on the left edge of frame. In the background on the right, the Reliable Furniture and Carpet Company, the W. G. Arthur Reid Company, Mazda Lamps, and Fulmer's Cigar Store are visible on the west side of Washington Boulevard. "Main Office Progress - Reconstructing 2nd & 3rd Floor," and "M-5020 12-8-16," are printed along the bottom of the image.
