lamp; Fayoum; Lamps; Ceramic; Glaze

Notes:
Dark gray micaceous clay with black glaze. Head of Bes. Wick hole at end of pointed beard which has the hair conventionally represented. Prominent lips. Wide nostrils and little bridge to the nose. Deep set eyes. Jovial expression. Wreath of leaves and ribbons about head. Filling hole above forehead. Seems to have been band handle at back which was added separately. Oblong base ring.
