Notes:
pouring spout; Pouring spout and ornate thumb rest, which takes the shape of a finial or leaf pattern. Blown and cut glass. The colorless glass and the chiseled pattern resemble rock-cut crystal. Crystal was analogized to petrified water in Islamic thought (Pearls of Wisdom, Gruber; Dimmig).
