County Clerk Louis Neumann at his desk in the Court house. The subject, seen from the waist up behind the desk, is a dark-haired middle-aged man, wearing a striped bow tie. In his right hand, he holds a fountain pen. On the desk to the right side of the image is a large, open ledger. In the foreground on the desk are two ink pots and some other desk accouterments. Hanging on the wall behind the man is a calendar for 1926. There is a pencil sharpener on a small table behind the man's left shoulder. Near the right side of the image is a storage unit for ledger books with metal drawer handles on the backs of each ledger.
