Description:
Mounted sepia-toned photographic print of the ruins of the Belle Isle wagon shed. Two carriages and much of the roof of the structure are intact on the right edge of the photo, but all that remains of the rest of the pictured portion of the shed, is its twisted frame, portions of the collapsed roof, and piles of debris underneath including many wagon axles and rims. A partial brick wall stands on the far end of the ruins on the left. An intact brick building stands on the opposite side of the shed on the right. "The Baker Art Studio, Portrait and Commercial Photographers, 93 Washington Ave. Detroit, Mich." is stamped on the verso, along with an order number form with the numbers 91393. "Wagon Shed in ruins, Belle Isle, Mar. 25, 1899," is handwritten on the verso.
