- Description:
- Black and white photo taken looking south on Woodward Avenue in Highland Park. Otto's Confectionary stands on the east side of the street. Walker and Company advertisements for Peter Otto, Contractor and Detroit Creamery Milk are painted on the side of the building. To the south of Otto's is a cloth tent supported by several posts, painted with, "The Scenic Cream Parlor 4046, Cream, Sandwiches, Cigars, Hot Drinks." Cars pass along Woodward and streetcar tracks run along the west side of the street. The smoke stacks and water tower of the Ford Highland Park Plant's power house are visible in the distance along Woodward. "Oct-2-16," is printed in the lower left corner. "Smith Brothers, Commercial Photographers, Arcadia Bldg - Woodward & Stimson, Detroit, Michigan," is stamped, and "October 2, 1916, Woodward Avenue looking south in Highland Park," is typewritten on a label tapped to the verso.
