- Satin evening dress with black-and-blue diagonal jacquard stripes. Bodice with wide neckline edged with aqua ribbon; ribbon covered with white lace interspersed with gold metallic thread patterns. Seams in bodice pulled. Elbow-length sleeves. Full-bias twelve-gore skirt edged with black box-pleated ruffle on inside of hem. Clothing label: ORIGINAL/CARRIE MUNN/NEW YORK. This garment was owned by Elizabeth Parke Firestone, daughter of Mr. Harvey Firestone of Detroit, Michigan.Elizabeth Parke Firestone is shown wearing this and another dress in photographs taken by Cecil Beaton for Vogue Magazine in very late 1949 or early 1950. Vogue chose to include the other dress in the magazine; its whereabouts are unknown. Elizabeth also wore this dress at a party for her eldest daughter, Elizabeth.

- Description:
- Women's dress made of very sheer cloth that is loosely woven of fine, ecru-color thread. The bodice has a square neckline with a black velvet yoke. Its shoulders back and front center are embroidered with heavy black and white silk floss, with heavy white lace across shoulders. The bodice is gathered to the waist, and has long, loose sleeves whose cuffs are decorated with black velvet, black chiffon, and the same black and white embroidery. There are two velvet buttons on each sleeve. The long skirt is rather narrow, and is comprised of the same material as the bodice. The lower half of the skirt has a wide panel of black and white embroidery, ecru lace, and black velvet buttons.
