- Looking west from Washington Avenue North. The Ottawa Grill is on the south side of West Shiawassee Street at North Washington Avenue; on the north side of West Shiawassee Street is the Eagles' Lodge, Aerie No. 1039, Fraternal Order of Eagles. City directories indicate a business systems store and a physician's offices form the south side of this block. City Planning Division staff annotated the photo.

- Merritt & Bailey Shoes at 112 North Washington Avenue, Christian Supply Center upstairs at 112 1/2, National Distributors at 114, and Public Loan Corporation at 114 1/2 are seen. City Planning Division staff cut the photo and made several annotations. One of which indicates that 112 was formerly Kleinhans Men's Wear.

- Parker Paints is on the north side of Ionia Street. Vandervoot's Hardware is on the south side of Ionia Street. The upper floor of the building housing Parker Paints is occupied by apartments and shops. East Ionia Street ends at North Grand Avenue, one block distant. - View of south end of the 300 block, east side. Covers entire block, taken from Ionia Street. Working north from East Ionia Street, the first stores: Parker Paint & Wallpaper at 300, Gibbs Natural Health Foods at 302, Marshall Music at 304, Top Value Redemption Gift Store trading stamps at 306, Baby Grand Bar at 308, vacancy at 310, and the taller Furniture Exchange at 312-14. City Planning Division staff trimmed two photographs to make this composite view. City Planning Division staff placed sequential numbers at the bottom of each piece, "F34" and "F35" and added other annotations.

- Looking north. Taken near Ionia Street, looking to the northeast. On the the west side, to the left in the photo, are seen Dubois and Hughes seeds and sporting goods at 307-309, Columbia Studios photographers at 313, Sams at 317. The east side, to the right, is too far away to see many details. Signs are seen, however, for American Cleaners at 326, Leonard's Wholesale Distributing at 322-324, Carl's Grill at 320, and LaRowe's Sewing Center at 318. Buildings in the 400 block, beyond East Shiawassee, are in the background.

- Lansing Broadcasting Co. building housed several businesses in addition to their WILS-AM radio station: Verra-Kleen Cleaners, and Baucom Barber; all used 407 as their address. City Planning Division staff annotated the photo and trimmed several photographs for assembly into this composite view. An automobile partially seen in one part is absent from the other because the images were taken at different times.

- At right is the end of the Gladmer Theatre at 233 North Washington Avenue. Moving left, in the same building, Randall's Health Foods is at 231. Continuing south, Silver Lead Paint at 229, Western Auto Supply at 225, Emery-Pratt office equipment at 223, Epicure Tea Shop at 221, MacLaughlin Music at 219, National China at 213, and Firestone Tires at 211. The block ends with the Tussing building at West Ottawa Street, home of the Palms Theatre at 209 and the College Drugstore at 201. Buildings seen to the south include the Bank of Lansing at 101 North Washington Avenue, Prudden building on South Washington and West Michigan Avenue, and the Michigan National Tower at West Allegan Street and South Capitol Avenue.
