- So called "Governor's Mansion" built by the State around 1857. No governor ever lived in the residence. It was originally located on the southeast corner of Capitol Avenue and Allegan Street, as shown in this photograph. The home was purchased by architect Edwin Bowd in 1923 and moved to 2003 West Main Street, after which time extensive remodeling was done. A lengthy history of the home appears in the Lansing "State Journal," November 24, 1933, page 20. Three copies.

- A view of a flooded street. A caption printed on this photograph's mat reads "Mainstreet looking east" and on the back of the photograph "John Allen" is written in pencil. Several faint letters on the front of the photo mat may be the stamp of photographer Fred J. Wagenvoord, who created a souvenir book of similar photographs from the 1904 flood.
