- Postcard. Color illustration of the Ambassador Bridge. Front reads, "Ambassador Bridge, Windsor Canada to Detroit, U.S.A." Back reads, "The Ambassador Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the world, and connects Detroit, Mich. and Windsor, Canada. Its dimensions are; length on main span 1,850 feet, total length 2 miles. The height over the river is 152 feet. Because the card refers to the bridge as the "longest suspension bridge in the world" we know that the card was printed between 1929, when the bridge was completed, and 1931 when the record was taken over by the George Washington Bridge.
