- The Cherry Street school at 528 Cherry Street was built in 1894 and had an addition built in 1915. It ended service as a school in 1933 and was eventually converted to office space. On the added entryway enclosure, lettering "Manson Building" can be seen. It was named for architect Elmer J. Manson who had an office in the same block. Two copies. The booklet covers all aspects of educational activities in the Lansing schools, primarily social studies, science, home-making, physical education, cultural subjects, mathematics, and special consideration, which is a section on programs for special needs students. Many photographs are included.

- Abigail Rogers was a pioneer for the school. She and her sister Delia worked to achieve education for women. The school opened in 1855 originally in the State Capitol Building until the school was constructed in 1858. James Turner was also involved in securing funds for the school. Located at the future site of the School for the Blind at the head of West Grand River on North Pine Street. Three copies.
