- The Friends of the Rivers was formed to support initiatives in the Lansing area for river cleanup and maintenance, as well as the support of leisure activities such as boating. This collection primarily consists of the newsletters sent by the group, as well as correspondence, event materials, newspaper clippings, and information regarding the establishment and maintenance of the organization.

Flooding prevented trains from entering the area.
