- Description:
- Children stand at tables, wearing aprons and caps, in what appears to be a home economics class. The 1925-1926 Directory of Public Schools for Lansing notes: "The Part-Time Continuation School, a domestic science kitchen, a wood shop for elementary grades and an open-air school are also located in this building." East Park School was built in 1916 to replace a two-room school on Lesher Place on the east side of what was then called East Park. The park's name changed to Oak Park in 1926, and the school name changed then to go along.
