- Native American Peter MacDonald, one of thirteen surviving Navajo Code Talkers, makes introductory remarks at a White House Oval Office event honoring the Navajos who were recruited into the U.S. Marine Corps to transmit secret tactical messages in the Navajo language. MacDonald explains why recruiting the Navajos was critical to the war effort. President Trump praises the Code Talkers for their strength and bravery then refers to Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) as "Pocahontas." White House Chief of Staff John Kelly says the Code Talkers gave the Marines a tremendous advantage during the battles at Guadalcanal and later on Iwo Jima. Trump answers some questions from the press on the tax bill.

The event concludes with the playing of the national anthem.
