Banks, associate provost and associate vice president for academic human resources, and professor emeritus of the James Madison College at Michigan State University, talks about coming to MSU in 1967 with a joint appointment to both James Madison College and the School of Labor and Industrial Relations (SLIR). Banks also talks about the founding of SLIR as a school, push-back by the MSU College of Business which felt SLIR duplicated their degree offerings, courses he taught, the administration of SLIR, and personality conflicts between SLIR faculty and the MSU administration. Banks is interviewed by John Revitte, MSU professor of Labor and Industrial Relations. Fourth of seven interviews.

- On the eve of the U.S. midterm elections, U.S. President Donald Trump campaigns for U.S. Senate candidate Josh Hawley (R-MO) in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Radio personality Rush Limbaugh introduces Trump. Trump is joined on stage by FOX News personalities Sean Hannity and Jeanine Pirro. Trump recounts his electoral victory in 2016, criticizes the media and declares that a Democratic takeover of the House will result in a roll-back of administration gains. He also talks about trade, tariffs, the economy, jobs, immigration and a border wall. Candidate Hawley credits Trump with cutting regulations and lowering taxes.

- Lyle describes growing up in the neighborhood near Fisher, being hired in November 1956 and his first day on the wet deck. He reflects on segregation in the plant, the swing shift, and changeover. Lyle talks about transferring to Security in 1966, describes the duties, interactions with workers, strikes, and the 1982 deaths in the Paint Department. He also discusses GM's decision to outsource plant security to Pinkerton. Lyle also discusses his other passion - coaching baseball.

- President Barack Obama announces the withdrawal of all U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of 2011, after nearly nine years of war. He says meetings will continue between the countries to assist Iraq in strengthening democratic institutions, education and heath systems. He praises the dedication and sacrifice of military personnel and looks forward to helping veterans get reestablished in American life. Obama says, "after a decade of war the nation we need to build is our own."

- President Barack Obama speaks to homeowners in Las Vegas, NV about changes to the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP). He says he will ask Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae to loosen HARP restrictions, making it easier for property owners to refinance their home loans even if the market value of the home has dropped below the loan balance. Obama says that the program is necessary to keep people in their homes and to help the country move out of the recession. He again challenges republicans to pass the American Jobs Act and help get people back to work.

Cooper talks about supporting those seeking treatment and challenges listeners to overcome the stigma associated with mental illness then introduces Vice President Biden. Biden explains how he met Cooper, describes his own commitment to expanding mental health care and how his awareness of problem has grown.
