- Kore draped in himation and chiton, standing with right knee flexed. Right hand raised to breast; left arm bent across body from the elbow under chiton. Wears coiffure of shoulder length, wavy hair, and polos with a raised back terminating in three projections. This type of polos is peculiar to Boeotia at this period. It seems to be a transitional from between the high polos of the 6th c. BC and the low polos of later periods. Therefore, suggests Boeotia provenance. Style would suggest the same with gray clay. Rectangular base (red) frontally and laterally indicated. Back rounded and unindicated. Clay: surface, pinkish gray (Muns 7.5 yr. 7/2); exposed, light reddish brown (Muns 2.5 yr 6/4). Moulded (front only?), hollow and sealed at sides, joints concealed and well planned. Large rectangular aperture (10.6 cm) in back. Bottom open. White slip.
