- A large assembly of Russian prisoners from the four corners of the Tsarist Empire pose outdoors for a photograph in the compound at Sprottau near the perimeter fence. German victories in the Battle of Tannenberg and the offensive in Russian Poland resulted in a large influx of Russian POW's into Sprottau. Many of these men would remain behind barbed-wire for years after the end of the war as a result of the Russian Civil War.

- This is a view of the Association building in Constantinople where Dirk Johannes Van Bommel prepared parcels for Allied prisoners of war in Turkish prisons. During the war, the YMCA building became a warehouse for relief work for Allied POW's.

- This POW sketch provides a general view of the town of Kedos and several of the prison camp buildings after the great fire. The prison barracks where many of the British prisoners lived is in the center to the left; the Gurkha mess is next to the large building to the center rights; and the Indian officers' quarters are next to the minaret at the right.

- British prisoners chase the ball during a field hockey match at Yozgad. Spectators enjoy the tournament from the sidelines. Sports kept the players in shape and provided entertainment for the spectators.

- View outside of Kut-al-Amara outside of the city walls showing the houses and the minaret. The British were unable to break out of the city due to flood waters and a relief column was intercepted and defeated by the Turks.

- This portrait of a prisoner at Danzig shows one of the multitude of Russian soldiers incarcerated by the Germans. He is an army cook from Korea and probably worked in the prison camp kitchen.

- Several British prisoners had the opportunity to go skiing in the mountains outside of Yozgad during the winter. The Turkish authorities felt confident that British POW's could not travel very far in the mountains of Anatolia, especially during the winter.

- This photograph provides a view of the Eastern Gate of the Citadel in Aleppo, where the Turks incarcerated Allied prisoners of war during World War I. Arabs walk along the road at the base of the Citadel and the minaret of a mosque can be seen to the left.
