- Located in the 400 block of South Washington Avenue, a part of Arbaugh department store with its main location at 401-423 South Washington Avenue. City Planning Division staff trimmed the photo. Another modification was to paste a small photo of an automobile onto the right side of the photo; its size, however, is inconsistent with the context.

Michigan Millers Mutual Fire Insurance Company building is next with its first floor occupant, People's Finance Service. The last building in the block was known as the Cahill Building at the time of the photograph. The Cahill Building actually had 200 North Capitol Avenue as its address. Next, the Dura-Chrome Dinette Co. was at 417. Michigan Liquor Control Commission Retail and Wholesale Store was at 417. A&P grocery completed the block at 425.
