- An oral history from Gerald W. Graves, a former mayor of the City of Lansing. He was born in Alpena (Mich.), attended Michigan State University and the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy, and at age 24 was the youngest sea captain in U. S. history. He was elected to the Michigan State Legislature in 1950 and served as Lansing's mayor from 1969 to 1981. He was interviewed by Joanne Jager at the Lansing Public Library Local History Room on October 30, with a follow-up interview on November 12, 1990. A transcript for this recording has not been completed.

- Gray was Lansing Mayor and later the warden of Jackson Prison. This photo was taken in the backyard of his home in Jackson, Michigan. The bows and dresses were made by their mother. Order of quadruplets is Helen, Wilma, Sarah, Edna.

- A group of men, presumably medical students, with "Old Doc Naegle" at the University of Michigan Anatomical Laboratory entrance. The building was completed in 1889. The photograph is inscribed on the back by a Dr. Haze, likely Dr. William H. Haze who practiced medicine in Lansing for many years and also served as mayor in 1866.

- Photo shows Mrs. Bertha Patterson (nanny), Edna, Mrs. Sadie Morlock, Mrs. Peter Gray, Mrs. McCullough, Helen, Wilma, Mrs. Peter Gray's sister. Mrs. Patterson lived on Pearl Street and she and her husband would occassionally babysit if Sadie had to go to town to Sears Roebuck for dress making materials for the girls.
