- Rocco J. Farano (Rocky), of Troy, NY served in the 36th Infantry Division during the WW II from 1943-1946. He saw action in Sicily, Italy, and later served in France, Belgium and Germany. Most of the interview focuses on combat in Italy, where he led a patrol that captured a German platoon, and was later wounded. Upon recovery, he was transferred to the Army Air Corps and completed his service with them.

- Donald was born in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan on December 14, 1933. He was seven years old when Pearl Harbor was bombed and remembers well life around his town during the war. When the Korean War erupted, he decided to join the United States Marine Corps. He was sent to boot camp in San Diego, California and then to Advanced Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California. After his training, Donald was sent to Virginia where he took a course on topographical survey and later tested new construction equipment for Marine Corps use.

- Raymonde Richardson was born in Paris, France and grew up during the depression. Food was very scarce and she would have to stand in a food line for five hours a day. She describes the German conquest of France and her experiences as a teenager living in German-occupied Paris. After the war, she worked in graves registration for the US Army in Normandy after the war and later met and married an American Army officer and moved to Michigan.

- Fred Weidner served in the 222nd Searchlight Battalion in the Pacific in World War II. His unit was deployed to New Guinea in 1944, and then to the Philippines in early 1945, where he witnessed enemy bombing raids and kamikaze attacks.

- Bill was born on February 10th, 1924 in Muskegon, Michigan. He enlisted in the military on February 18th, 1942 right after he turned 18 and was placed in the Marine Corps. He did his boot camp at Camp Elliot in San Diego, California. From Camp Elliot Bill went to North Carolina and became part of the 3rd infantry Marine Division- which became Camp Lejeune. After training in Auckland, New Zealand, Bill was sent to Guadalcanal for additional training. Bill partook in fighting at Bougainville Island in the fall of 1943; he was then sent back to Guadalcanal. From there, Bill and his division were sent to Guam. Bill received the Purple Heart in Guam after he was hit with shrapnel from a Japanese grenade. After six months in Guam, Bill was sent to Iwo Jima where he encountered heavy fighting as his regiment took many casualties.

- Interview of Joe Rosbert Joe by filmmaker Frank Boring for the documentary, Fei Hu: The Story of the Flying TIgers. Rosbert served in the American Volunteer Group (AVG) as a Flight Leader in the 1st Squadron "Adam and Eve." He joined the AVG after serving in the US Navy, and remained until it disbanded in 1942. In this tape, Rosbert discusses the controversy between Stillwell and Chennault, the feelings within the group during their final weeks, and the off-duty pastimes of the AVG.

- Interview of Chinese Ambassador Konsin Shah by filmmaker Frank Boring for the documentary, Fei Hu: The Story of the Flying Tigers. Ambassador Shah served as a Chinese aviator during World War II and later as President Chiang Kai-shek's pilot and aide de camp. In this tape, Konsin Shah describes the first battle of the American Volunteer Group, the bombing of Kunming, and his perspective on the AVG's place in Chinese history.

- Donald Cripps joined the Michigan National Guard in 1940 and served in Company C of the 126th Infantry Regiment, 32nd (Red Arrow) Division during World War II. He describes training in Louisiana, service in Australia and New Guinea. He was wounded at Buna in New Guinea and then was stationed in Australia after he recovered.

- Phil Davis served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He joined the Air Force because of his low draft number, and he was sent to Vietnam and served in the I Corps sector as a pilot.

- Forrest Johnson, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Johnson served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After Pearl Harbor, he tried to join the Army Air Corps and the Marine Corps, but both rejected him due to colorblindness. The Army drafted him in 1943. He was eventually sent to Fort Sam Houston, Texas, to join the 378th Regiment, 95th Division, and went with them to train in the California desert before shipping to England in August, 1944. In October, they went to France and joined the 3rd Army at Nancy. Johnson participated in several battles near Metz, and was wounded at Amanvillers in November. The wound ended his military career early, sending him to hospitals in France, England and the US, and he was discharged in early 1945.
