- Description:
- Lafayette Mead's Laundry was located on the east side of Main Street, between Third and Fourth Streets in the Lyman L. Ball Building, which was built in 1900. Ball was a photographer and his studio was on the second level. A skylight can be seen on the side of the building. The sign above the awning reads "Rochester Steam Laundry." Mead bought the building from Ball and operated his laundry there until 1942. In 1948, William L. Holland opened Holland Floral and Gifts in the building.
