- Sam Ruegsegger, project manager for the Christman Company, and Jeff White, project superintendent, talk about their responsibilities on the project to renovate, restore, and construct new portions of the Snyder-Phillips Halls complex to house the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) on the campus of Michigan State University. They talk about learning to work together, the project's aggressive schedule, coordinating all the complex tasks and resources needed, and the difficulties in trying to plan ahead for all of the many construction details. They also talk about site picketing by union members, how the Chirstman follows all wage rate laws, and how they try to foster good relations with the unions.

- In an oral history interview, Ed Barton, volunteer curator of the "Changing Men Collection" in the Michigan State University Libraries' Special Collections unit, talks about the history and development of the collection and the men's movement itself. Barton says that the collection began with a donation facilitated by MSU Professor Bruce Curtis and has continued to grow robustly based upon Barton's support and active gathering of conference materials. Barton also outlines the core tenets of the different branches of the men's movement and says that his own involvement in the movement has helped him develop the collection.

- Former Michigan State University President Lou Anna K. Simon discusses her involvement with the MSU Faculty Grievance Policy (FGP) and the Faculty Grievance Official (FGO) when she served as MSU Provost and later as MSU President. Simon talks about the origins and evolution of the FGP, her experiences with several FGOs and changes to the FGP which she instituted. Simon also talks about the tension in universities between teaching and research, which she says affects hiring, tenure, salaries, promotions, and administrative priorities. She comments on the pressures of balancing the needs of the university with the wishes of the MSU Board of Trustees and the burden of being responsible for decisions made at every level of operation. Simon is interviewed by Robert Banks, former MSU associate provost and associate vice president for Academic Human Resources and John Revitte, former MSU professor of Human Resources and Labor Relations.

- In the second of a two part interview, Dr. Walter Adams, former interim President of Michigan State University and professor of economics, continues to discuss his career at MSU and the beginnings of the School of Labor and Industrial Relations (SLIR). Adams remembers a politically driven investigation of SLIR when the business community felt MSU was providing too much assistance to labor organizations, recounts an episode during the McCarthy era when a threat to the university was beaten back by John Hannah and explains how SLIR joined the College of Social Science rather than the business school. Adams also talks about his book "The test", his experiences as interim university president, his opposition to the Vietnam War and why he marched to the state capital with students on October 15, 1969, and efforts to unionize MSU faculty and the creation of a faculty grievance process. Adams says that he often spoke out on campus controversies and frequently had the ear of John Hannah and that he feels that the quality of the MSU administration has declined in the last ten to fifteen years. Adams is interviewed by MSU Professor of Labor and Industrial Relations John Revitte.

Groty also talks about attempts to create a faculty union at MSU and the history of the MSU Faculty Grievance Office which he says was an attempt by the MSU to stop another push by faculty for unionization. - Michael Rubner, Michigan State University's longest serving Faculty Grievance Official, talks about being born in Palestine and emigrating to the U.S., his education and what brought him to James Madison College at MSU in 1970. He also talks about why the FGO position interested him and his role in the creation of a grievance manual. Rubner says that he inherited an office which did not run smoothly and discusses the steps he took to improve things and that he decided to leave the position because of two faculty members who "made his life miserable". Rubner is interviewed by MSU Professor John Revitte, who himself is a former FGO. Revitte also reflects upon some of his experiences in the office and his revisions to the grievance manual.

- In an oral history interview, Don Stevens, former Michigan State University trustee and AFL-CIO board member, talks about conflicts within the leadership of the state AFL-CIO, how he came to head the state CIO Education Department, and visiting Europe in order to help unions in postwar Europe reestablish themselves. Stevens describes efforts to influence elections, endorsing John Swainson for Governor, and tax issues involving Detroit which cost Swainson reelection. He also talks about the creation of the labor center at MSU, the start of Oakland University as a separate institution during his time as an MSU trustee, and John Hannah's presidency of MSU. He closes by considering what that the labor movement in Michigan has accomplished, what it has meant to him, and the threats it is under.
