- At right is the end of the Gladmer Theatre at 233 North Washington Avenue. Moving left, in the same building, Randall's Health Foods is at 231. Continuing south, Silver Lead Paint at 229, Western Auto Supply at 225, Emery-Pratt office equipment at 223, Epicure Tea Shop at 221, MacLaughlin Music at 219, National China at 213, and Firestone Tires at 211. The block ends with the Tussing building at West Ottawa Street, home of the Palms Theatre at 209 and the College Drugstore at 201. Buildings seen to the south include the Bank of Lansing at 101 North Washington Avenue, Prudden building on South Washington and West Michigan Avenue, and the Michigan National Tower at West Allegan Street and South Capitol Avenue. Kresge at 216, Barker's Shoe Store at 214, Carl's Shoe Store at 212, and Linn's Camera Shop at 210. Several blocks of the east side of South Washington are also seen. Highlights include Small's Mens Shop at 211, the Foo Ying Cafe on the upper level at 207 1/2 - 209 1/2, Daniel's Jewelry Co. at 205 and Bosch jewelers at 201. In the next block, the 100 block, the American Bank & Trust building is prominent. City Planning Division staff annotated and trimmed the photo. The basis for the annotation, "against the law?" is unknown.

- East side. Daniels Jewelry at 205, Foo Ying Cafe at 207 1/2 - 209 1/2; Brooks mens store at 209, and Small's men's store at 211 South Washington Avenue. City Planning Division staff trimmed two photographs extensively. The images do not match perfectly; the pavement and automobiles are at varying heights in the two images. In this instance, an automobile in one photo was cut around and the affixed to the other photo, binding them together. City Planning Division staff annotation is present.

Working south from East Shiawassee: Winkin' Pup Bar at 338, Leonard Wholesale Distributing storage at 334, Larry's Lunch at 332, Town Pump Bar at 328, American Cleaners at 326 and Leonard Wholesale Distributing at 322 North Washington Avenue. City Planning Division staff trimmed two photographs to make this composite. Because the images were taken at different times, automobiles seen in one portion are absent from the other. City Planning Division staff placed sequential numbers at the bottom of each piece: "G6" and "G7".

On the east side, to the left, are seen Leonard's Wholesale Distributing at 322-324, Carl's Grill at 320, LaRowe's Sewing Center at 318, Lansing Dry Cleaners at 316, and the Furniture Exchange at 312-314.
