(Charles W. Warren & Co.) and the Peoples State Bank. Printed on verso: The Washington Arcade Building - On Woodward Avenue near Grand Circus Park is one of the many handsome office structures to be found in this part of the city. It extends from Woodward Avenue through to Washington Boulevard and was erected by Frank J. Hecker in 1901. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked Mar 10, 1910.

- Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing a 2-story brick police station building. The station (5th Precinct) was located on Trumbull Avenue near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Church Street. "Trumbull Ave." street signs are visible on the left and right corners of the building and three faces can be seen in the windows to the left of the doorway. The photo was probably taken in early spring since buds are just becoming visible on the trees in front of the station. The "Flour, Grain & Mill Feed" business of A. H. Zink can be seen on Church Street to the right of the police station as well as the adjacent harness shop of Frank Joyce. The horse-drawn delivery wagon of Malcomson Bros. Grocers is parked in front of the two previously-mentioned businesses. Michigan Avenue runs behind the police station building and short sections of the road are visible at the far left and far right sides of the photo.

The vehicle is parked beside the median on Washington Boulevard and the men are wearing heavy overcoats and hats. The vehicle is right-hand drive with the steering wheel being located on the right side. Its engine compartment is covered with an insulating blanket and the ground is lightly covered with snow. A fountain is running in the boulevard median which is creating a winter ice sculpture. The 4-story brick building in the center background area is the Edison Company building (formerly Station A of the Edison Illuminating Company) and the name is shown on a lighted sign at the corner and in stone at the top of the building. Part of St. Aloysius Catholic Church can be seen at the far left side of the photo. A date in the lower right corner of the photo shows "1-14-14." - Circa 1960s. Exterior image of Old Main. Viewed from the corner of Cass and Warren. Malcomson and Higginbotham, 1896. Originally Central High School, Old Main is Wayne State’s place of origin and now a university icon. The stately Romanesque Revival composition is softened by the buff-colored brick. Under the leadership of David Mackenzie, a junior college was begun in the building in 1917. In 1926, high school classes left the building and the growing college took over all the space in the stately structure. Dated July 1966.

- Circa 1950s. Architectural model of building. Minoru Yamasaki and Associates, 1958. One of Yamasaki’s masterpieces and believed by many to be among Detroit’s finest buildings. The 2 story nearly symmetrical pavilion is sheathed in warm travertine marble. The interior contains 2 levels of conference rooms that are arranged to either side of a sky lighted entry hall and lounge which has the feeling of a gothic cathedral. A triangular geometric motif forms a decorative pattern throughout. The metal pattern recalls an Asian models of architecture and landscape design.
