- Description:
- This collection consists of materials that reflect the history, organization, and operations of the Lansing Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA). The Lansing chapter began in 1889. Over the years, the organization grew and operated in several buildings. At one time, the YWCA included rooms to rent and a lunch room that was open to the public. The Diana awards were given annually from 1977 to 2003 to women who were leaders in the community. The collection includes minutes and reports of the board of directors as well as various committees; information on specific programs such as the Diana award, along with photographs and biographies; the YWCA centennial in 1989; and scrapbooks and clippings that cover specific events and individuals associated with the organization. The materials were divided into the following series by library staff: <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/4258B9F1-2C88-4434-953A-835305475341">Series 1: Bylaws, deeds, and studies</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/87BC1EEF-AD5A-4333-8EC1-288515634735">Series 2: Board lists and attendance, Whiteley Foundation, and Zonta Report</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/D9F38984-87F4-4523-92CB-346397910053">Series 3: Strategic plans, clubs, committees, departments, and activities</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/8881999A-55F7-4B89-9B79-916494879302">Series 4: Annual reports and meetings</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/3D36397A-BA0D-40DD-9F0E-005645250542">Series 5: Board minutes</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/2A3EDC49-A9F9-4390-BDBE-777722174402">Series 6: Diana awards and nominations, publicity, event information, biographical information</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/5B44FB94-4EF5-4204-AA4A-360431417481">Series 7: YWCA histories</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/C446EA61-1E73-4905-B05A-747596289680">Series 8: Letters, bulletins, guest book, slide show script, postcard book</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/8DEBB208-F646-4B7D-872F-423459555241">Series 9: Miscellaneous papers 1890-1995</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/FF42E925-3A62-48A5-9C23-396471042270">Series 10: Books</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/BBC06823-8A63-4FC6-A072-212762480832">Series 11: Newspaper clippings and scrapbooks</a> <a href="http://cadl.pastperfectonline.com/archive/224D3CA8-B581-4FD4-A71F-111180156617">Series 12: Audio-visual materials (photographs, slides, audio recordings) and objects</a>
