- Print. Black and white photographic print of an elevated view, looking southeast on Woodward Avenue, toward the new J.L. Hudson Company Department Store addition, Himelhoch's Department Store and the already existing Hudson's building. A series of automobiles are parked on Woodward adjacent to the curb; a man can be seen working on the newly formed sidewalk in front of the addition. Signage for the Fourth Liberty Loan is affixed to the façade of the Hudson's building. Also, the Ferry Building is visible in the left foreground with flags displayed above the entryway. The date is printed on the front of the recto, "Oct. 16. - 18." Also, the photography studio's name, and geographic location are embossed on the recto, "Manning Bros., Detroit."

- Sepia-toned photo of the construction site where the Cadillac Hotel was demolished to make way for the Book-Cadillac Hotel taken from the southwest corner of Washington Boulevard and Michigan Avenue, facing northeast. The lot is surrounded by a wooden fence with a construction canopy over the sidewalk. A sign for the foundation-laying company Spencer, White, and Prentis is posted above the fence. The Detroit Commerce Building with signage on its roof for the People's Outfitting Company is visible to the east of the site along Michigan. A police officer stands in the center of the street in the foreground as a man in a boater hat crosses. An electric streetcar proceeds east on Michigan on the right side of frame. - Digital scan of a sepia-toned photo taken along the tracks northwest the Detroit portals of the Michigan Central Railway Tunnel during its construction. A Hocking Valley car is on the left, and on the right is a Michigan Central Railroad flatcar loaded with rails from the Mays Creek right-of-way which were being removed to make room for the new tunnel approach. Richard L. Aylward's coal business on Vermont Street stands beside the tracks on the right. The Vermont Street Bridge and Porter Street Bridge run overhead in the background.
