- Program booklet for the Third Annual Fireman's Ball held by the Association of Ex-Members Detroit Steam Fire Department at the Light Guard Armory on Monday, April 11, 1898. The booklet consists of a half-folded sheet bound between two separate pieces of cardstock with pink string. An illustration of a firefighter waving his arm in front of a burning building, surrounded by a border made of firefighting equipment is on the front. The program of dances to be performed as well as the list of floor manager are contained within. The program was printed by Hunter and Scheuren at 178 Brush Street.

- Invitation to the First Annual Ball of Protection Engine Company No. 1 at Thomas Paton's Hotel on Gratiot Avenue at Russell Street on Tuesday, February 17, 1852. The invitation lists the managers, and floor managers for the event, and notes that the music will be provided by Warner's Band, and "carriages for the ladies will be in attendance."

- Sepia-toned albumen photo of the Firemen's Memorial in Elmwood Cemetery. The Memorial consists of a round white stone column (probably marble) that is mounted on an ornate carved, 4-sided white stone base. A carved figure of a fireman, who is shown with a downcast gaze, is standing on top of the column. The front of the base shows a raised carving of a fireman's helmet and the lettering, "Firemen." A planted flower bed occupies the area around the monument base. Also, there are two large flower urns on each side of the monument. Several ornamental fire hydrants are visible in the foreground and gravestones can be seen in the area beyond the flower bed.

- Sepia-toned albumen photo of Detroit's first steam fire engine. The photo shows a horse-drawn fire engine with one fireman in the driver's seat, three firemen standing on the sidewalk, and two firemen standing beside the rear wheel of the fire engine. Several bystanders are also visible. A brick fire station building is visible in the background. Four square decorative motifs that represent various tools of the fire department can be seen be seen along the face of the fire station building.

- Resolution printed on a large piece of cardstock, from the Board of Trustees honoring James R. Elliott upon his retirement. The document has an ornate header consisting of the letters "FFA," surrounded by vines, and a firefighter's bugle. The resolution reads: Detroit, Mich. May 1st 1896. At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Detroit Firemen's Fund Association, held April 9th 1896, the retiring board adopted the following set of resolutions. Whereas, James R. Elliott has been an active member of this Board since its inception and taken great interest in the affairs of the Firemen's Fund Association and Whereas, we the members of the Board desire to show our appreciation to him for the conspicuous service has so freely rendered, and Whereas, the preservation of this Organization has been largely due to the wise methods he has inaugurated. Be it therefore resolved, that we the members of the retiring Board extend to our retiring Treasurer, James R. Elliott, our sincerest thanks and heartiest commendation for his invaluable services, and Be it further resolved, that this set of Resolutions be engrossed suitably framed, and presented to Chief James R. - Firemen's Fund Association membership certificate, printed by the Detroit Lithographic Office, and issued to Adolph Hoeninghausen on December 8, 1881. The document bears the signatures of President William J. Gowan, Treasurer James A. Elliott, and Secretary James A. Nakeley, beside a green adhesive embossed Firemen's Fund Association seal. Illustrations of a firefighter speaking into a bugle, as two other firefighters hold a hose, as well as of a team of firefighters riding in an early self-propelled steam-driven fire engine are on the left side of the certificate. The certificate is mounted on linen.

- Hardcover ledger book, bound in a grey cover printed with "Journal," used by Martin Cooney, the Superintendent of Horses for the Detroit Fire Department to record both the shifts and absences of workers at the department's supply stables, spanning February 18, 1902 to January 13, 1907, as well as the supply and consumption of hay and oats by the department's horses, from January 1, 1902 to December 15, 1906. The worker's arrivals and departures are listed on pages 3 through 19, while the supply of feed is documented on pages 1 and 2, as well as 164 through 200. "Supply Stables" and "Chief Martin Cooney" are handwritten on the front free endpaper.

- Description:
- Sepia-toned glossy photo of a Detroit Fire Department Packard squad car. The car is parked on a brick driveway near the corner of a building and shows the driver and the left side of the vehicle. The car is right-hand drive since the steering wheel is on the right side. "Engine 30" can be seen on the firemen's helmets that are attached to the horizontal bar at the back of the squad car. The number, "04885," is handwritten in black ink in the lower right corner of the photo. Handwriting on the verso shows "D.F.D., Second Packard squad car taken while in service as old Engine No. 30, then located on east side of Hastings St. between East Larned and Congress Streets, and was quartered with Engine No. 2 in the same station. This unit was delivered Oct. 18, 1910, to the Detroit Fire Dept., was factory serial no. 15957 and dept. no. 215. The squad car was sent to engine 34 (later to become squad 2) in 1912. The unit remained there until March, 1922, when it was placed in reserve service. The squad car was presented to the Detroit Historical Museum in 1934." A blue ink stamp on the verso shows "Spooner & Wells Photograph, 1231 Woodward Ave."
