The driver holds a riding crop, while a man near the rear of the carriage blows a long horn. A team of four horses pull the carriage. A fountain and several other people are visible among the trees in the background. "Detroit, August 23rd, 1897, For Miss Sarah Russel, Compliments of Cornelius A. Pugsley and Bradfrod Rhodes." handwritten in script on matting. "Grand Circus Park, Four-in-hand coach of 1897 circles Grand Circus Park with its stylish passengers (notice the man with the horn)" handwritten on verso. "O.M. Hayes & Co. Detroit" printed on left edge of matting.
