- Taken near Shiawassee Street, looking to the southeast. On the north end of the west side, to the right in the photo, are seen Bohnet Electric at 331 and Mac's Take Out Beer at 329. On the east side, to the left, are seen Leonard's Wholesale Distributing at 322-324, Carl's Grill at 320, LaRowe's Sewing Center at 318, Lansing Dry Cleaners at 316, and the Furniture Exchange at 312-314.

- Located at 400 North Washington Avenue just north of the intersection with East Shiawassee Street. A "grand opening" sign can be seen in the window, dating the photograph to August, 1958. The store sold furniture, carpeting, and appliances both wholesale and retail.

- The northeast corner of West Michigan and North Capitol Avenues. A night scene. Jury-Rowe furniture store and the Bank of Lansing can be seen further east on West Michigan Avenue.

- Lansing Broadcasting Co. building housed several businesses in addition to their WILS-AM radio station: Verra-Kleen Cleaners, and Baucom Barber; all used 407 as their address. City Planning Division staff annotated the photo and trimmed several photographs for assembly into this composite view. An automobile partially seen in one part is absent from the other because the images were taken at different times.

Next, the Dura-Chrome Dinette Co. was at 417. Michigan Liquor Control Commission Retail and Wholesale Store was at 417. A&P grocery completed the block at 425.
