- Flask of transparent pale green glass. Intact. Many large bubbles and black impurities. Globular body mold-blown and expanded. Faint pattern of two rows of rings with inner dots. There are possible sunken dots between the two rows. Cylindrical neck rises from shoulder and flares out to funnel mouth with slightly uneven, plain, fire-polished rim. Annular bulge half way up neck. Bottom flattened and decorated with a concave rosette surrounded by a ring of concave dots. Two trailed handles attached over the curve of the shoulder, pinched at top and broken off carelessly at upper end.; Bibliography: Soucek #55; Comment: A 10th - 12th century flask from Iran (Glass from Islamic Lands #3.37a) suggests what a sharper, less inflated pattern might have looked like).

- Fragment of bowl or beaker. Central segment of slightly flaring wall in free blown and cut transparent colorless glass. Below a raised ridge a stylized palmette with curving horizontal leafy tendrils hanging down into incomplete spiral design. Finely incised lines on curves and within leaf pattern. Thin, good quality glass.; Cf. Carboni and Whitehouse #79; Benaki #335a-c; Lamm Pl. 61 #16 for similar design on a lamp; Glass fragment adorned with patterns carved in relief. The chiseling technique used to relief-cut this glass resembles the way rock crystal (which was analogized by medieval Muslim thinkers to light and petrified water) is worked. Free-blown and cut colorless glass (Pearls of Wisdom, Gruber; Dimmig).
