- Description:
- A view of the flooded Grand River looking toward the Michigan Avenue bridge. The flood had taken out the Kalamazoo Street bridge and swept it downstream to where it appears in this photograph. In the background, the Rikerd Lumber Company, the Central Implement Company, and other businesses can be seen. Several faint letters on the front of the photo mat may be the stamp of photographer Fred J. Wagenvoord, who created a souvenir book of similar photographs from the 1904 flood. The name "John Allen" is written on the back in pencil. Gift of Janice Bedford Nagele.
