During this time in Kentucky, Bennitt is placed in charge of the divisional hospital. Their Centreville home is lost through forclosure and his family moves to Three Rivers, Michigan to stay with friends. This group of letters is transcribed and footnoted in Chapter 2 of I Hope to Do My Country Service.
