This is the only example of an entire retail space designed by Nelson; it was completed in 1964 in a space formerly occupied by Mills Dry Goods.

According to a descendant of the Nico family, the person in white at the curb is Peter Nico and the photograph was taken on a 4th of July sometime in the 1930s. Peter is cleaning out a hole at the curb to place an American flag there (which can be seen leaning against the awning). The Nico family lived above the store at this time. Two copies. - Caption on photo: "The Octagon House was the residence of Colonel Whitney Jones who was Auditor General in 1855-58. This photograph shows the moving of the building so that Arbaugh's store could be built on the site. It was used as a warehouse until 1929 when it was demolished and the site made into a parking lot." This is incorrect; the building was razed in 1935. Three copies.
