- One folio series entitled, "Detroit Illustrated," that was published in 14 parts by H. R. Page & Company of Chicago. This folio, Part Eight, has a gray/green paper cover that is printed in brown text. There are eight interior pages which include printed text and sepia-toned photographic images that are entitled as follows: The Thompson Home Y.M.C.A. - Two architectural drawings with first entitled "Plans for Eight Stores and Sixteen Apartments Located on the North-West Corner of Michigan and Wesson Aves., Detroit, Michigan" and the second entitled "Wesson Ave. Elevation." The drawings (Job No. 288) consist of red and black ink on linen and show front and rear elevation views of a proposed 3-story retail/apartment building. On the second drawing, the name, "Soldoris," is shown over the apartment entrance doorway on Wesson Avenue. The title block in the lower right corner of the first sheet shows that the drawing (part of a set of nine sheets) was prepared by "J. Lawson Miller, Architect," at a scale of 1/4 inch = 1 foot. Some green and blue pencil shading has been added on the verso to highlight various architectural details.

- One set of architectural "Specifications for Mr. S. P. Lachman for a Remodeling Job to be Done on the North Side of Michigan Avenue Between Junction Ave. and 35th St., Number 1584 Michigan Ave., Detroit, Michigan." The specifications (Job 278, Set No. 1) are bound in a booklet that has two brass fasteners at the top. The cover is made of heavy tan paper and includes typewritten text for the title. Printed text beneath the title shows the name, "J. Lawson Miller, Architect." The cover interior and outside back cover have printed advertisements for many contractors, tradesmen, and building materials suppliers. The booklet contains 70 pages of typewritten text that give brief descriptions of all of the materials and construction requirements for the project. An index is shown on the first page.

The primary copy has bolder colors and is mounted on beige cardstock. The secondary copy has lighter colors, and includes the title, "'The Heart of Detroit' - Reproduced from Photograph," as well as the notation, " Jos. Mack, Printer, Detroit." Both versions include captions below labeling the Post Office, City Hall, Pardridge and Blackwell in the Majestic Building, the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument, Merrill Fountain, and the Opera House. A sign reading, "Welcome National Hay Association" is posted on the front of City Hall. The moonlight tower in front of City Hall on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Michigan Avenue is visible. Electric streetcars, horse-drawn carriages, and pedestrians are on the streets below. - Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing a 2-story brick police station building. The station (5th Precinct) was located on Trumbull Avenue near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Church Street. "Trumbull Ave." street signs are visible on the left and right corners of the building and three faces can be seen in the windows to the left of the doorway. The photo was probably taken in early spring since buds are just becoming visible on the trees in front of the station. The "Flour, Grain & Mill Feed" business of A. H. Zink can be seen on Church Street to the right of the police station as well as the adjacent harness shop of Frank Joyce. The horse-drawn delivery wagon of Malcomson Bros. Grocers is parked in front of the two previously-mentioned businesses. Michigan Avenue runs behind the police station building and short sections of the road are visible at the far left and far right sides of the photo.

Snow covers the ground. The low light from a sunset silhouettes both the figures in coats and hats which approach the camera and the Majestic Building on the right, as well as creates a flare effect in the center of the image. A large sign, the visible portion reading, "Join... for" is posted on the Majestic Building on the right edge of the frame. City Hall, and the Recreation Building are in the background.

- Photograph of steamer "Pickwick" on Grand River, Lansing. One of a line of steamers plying the Grand River in the 1870's between the dam at North Lansing, the Mineral Well House, and Benton Bridge. The steamer line was owned and operated by Captain A. P. Loomis. Other boats of the fleet were the "Sea Bird" and "Minnie Cass." The boats were very popular and could be boarded from a landing at the Michigan Avenue bridge over the Grand River.

- View from an elevated position showing the blocks closed for parking. From the period when South Washington Street was used as parking lots from Michigan Avenue to Kalamazoo Street. In the photograph, the former Arbaugh's building appears to have been re-sided as Plaza One. According to Lansing City Council Proceedings from October 3, 1966, the 100, 200 and 300 blocks of South Washington were to be turned into a Parking Mall starting November 21, 1966. On June 9, 1989, Council ordered that the attended parking operations were to be eliminated.
