- Description:
- Contains one scrapbook compiled for Claud Erickson and several loose unidentified family portraits by Lansing photographers. The scrapbook is printed on the front with "Claud R. Erickson. President. The City Club of Lansing. 1970-1971." It contains newspaper clippings, "Newsline" newsletters, correspondence, and other items related to Claud Erickson's election as president of The City Club of Lansing. Claud Erickson was born in Manistee, Michigan in 1900, and died in 1993. He earned four engineering degrees from Michigan State University and worked for the Lansing Board of Water and Light for 50 years, serving for a time as director and ultimately having the Erickson Station plant named after him. He was also involved in many other sectors including Ingham County Chairman of U.S. Treasury Savings Bond Drive, the Red Cross, and the MSU Foundation, among others. The seven loose photographs appear to be from much earlier and have no relation to the scrapbook of the City Club. They have not been digitized. One photo is dated 1892. This collection was donated by Jim Perkins.

- Description:
- This is a collection of Lansing and regional photographic prints and negatives assembled by David Caterino. Image subjects represent a wide cross-reference of people, buildings, scenery, and events. Most are identified. They have been grouped into 27 subject series (list below) that were established by the collector. Series 27, Lansing Photographers, consists mainly of unidentified studio portraits gathered primarily to identify early Lansing photographers. The subjects of the photographs in those boxes is less significant than the photographers' stamps on cabinet cards and other formats. Most of the information is complementary to research published by David V. Tinder, available online here.

- Description:
- The Lansing State Journal newspaper ran a feature called "Ye Olde Photograph Album" in its pages from approximately 1936 to 1943. It consisted of a vintage photograph, often sent in by a reader, with a brief caption, each time the feature appeared. Photographs depicted all sorts of scenery, people, and events from the Lansing area, mostly from the 19th century. Lansing historian Ford Ceasar clipped these from the paper and pasted them in an oversized ledger binding with pages that were cut from various Motor Wheel blueprints. Many of the clippings were not pasted in but stuck between the pages loosely as well. Several blank blueprint "pages" were part of the ledger and have been kept. It is not known if this is a comprehensive set of the "Ye Olde..." feature. Dates have not been included with most of the clippings.

The photographs depict some of the earliest scenery in Lansing on record. They have been divided into 23 subject series. - These photographs were removed from an oversize album. The cover sheet noted (in handwriting, possibly Ford Ceasar's) the following: "Lansing Schools and Lansing in the '50s and '60s Photos and tinting by Carl Dalrymple Lansing School Instructor and Audiovisual Director, 1922-1963" Some of the photographs date from earlier than the 1950s and 1960s. The series includes interior and exterior photographs of schools and other educational facilities such as libraries, gymnasiums, and audiovisual storage. There are many which appear to be photographs of other photographic material that had been on display, or photographs that have been removed from displays due to adhesive and tape residue/damage. The hand-tinted images have surface damage in many cases. Selected images from most files have been included in this record.
