- Sepia-toned cabinet card photo of unknown fireman who is standing. He has a bushy mustache and is wearing a dress uniform that consists of a long, double-breasted coat, decorative belt, and hat. The belt buckle shows the number, "2," and a hat badge shows the number, "38." The name of the photographic studio is printed in gold-colored ink on the bottom of the photo: "Earle, 253 Woodward Ave. and 55 Rowland St., Detroit." Handwriting on the verso shows "#15."

- Mounted sepia toned group portrait photograph taken of Mayor Hazen S. Pingree, the Aldermen of the Detroit Common Council, and newspaper men posed standing in roughly three rows, behind Mount Vernon, on October 22, 1893. The 22 men wear coats and hold their hats at their sides. Photograph date October 22, 1893 "Luke C. Dillon, Photographer to Mount Vernon. Office at Pullman's Gallery. No. 935 Pennsylvania Ave. P.O. Box 655, Washington D.C.," is stamped on the verso, and "Oct. 22, 1893, Detroit Aldermen, Mayor Pingree, & newspaper men at Mount Vernon," is handwritten on the verso.

- Mounted sepia-toned group portrait photograph of ten uniformed firefighters posed in front of an open bay on the exterior of their fire station. The five men in the front are seated in wooden chairs, and the other five men stand behind them. The face of an eleventh person is visible through the window on the right. Through the large bay doors are harnesses for the horses that draw their apparatus which are suspended from overhead to expedite hitching. The photo is mounted on beige cardstock.

- Cabinet card bearing a sepia-toned head-and-shoulders portrait photograph of Detroit Fire Commissioner Joseph Godfrey. This photograph is one of a series of eight photos of former Detroit Fire Department Commissioners. The decorative engraved logo of the photographer (Randall) has been torn off of the verso of the cabinet card photo. The proof bears the name of "Geo. Francis Train" at the bottom, and a stamp for Randall, 220 & 222 Woodward Ave., Detroit, Mich." is shown on the verso. (Also see photograph 1952.413.004.)

- Sepia-toned photo of three employees of the Merchants Credit Bureau--Estelle Koehler, Judie Strandburg, and Marion Maus, as indicated by a handwritten notes on both the recto and verso--kneeling in winter coats of the roof of the Merchants Building, on the east corner of Grand River Avenue and Broadway Avenue. Snow has accumulated on the roof's surfaces. The caption, "Coldest in Six Years," has been handwritten at the bottom of the recto. "1923," is handwritten on the verso. The remnants of stripes used to affix the photo in an album are on the corners.

The fireman is wearing his uniform which includes a long, double-breasted coat, decorative belt, and cap. His shirt has been hand-colored in purple in the collar area. The badge on his coat has the handwritten number "2." (The copy photo shows the handwritten number "3" on his coat and the badge number on the cap also appears to be number 3.) Handwriting on the verso notes "Whitney B. Beattie."

The firefighter is also wearing a jacket, and tie; a badge is clipped onto the right side of the jacket. Written on verso, "James O'Shea." The name of the photograph studio is mostly torn off at the bottom of the card, but probably read "F. Friend, 244 & 246 Woodward Ave., Detroit."
