Hernandez explains how she began writing, her mother's influence, her family's Trinidadian heritage, and being published. She also talks about her time in the Cadillac plant and the influence it has had on her writing, her current short story and poetry projects, and how her co-workers support her writing. Hernandez is interviewed by Michigan State University Librarian Diana Rivera for the MSU Libraries' Michigan Writers Series. Held at the MSU Main Library.
