Stores to the east include the Keith Bartow Music Shop, Barker-Fowler Electric Company, Central Car and Truck Rental and VanDevoort Hardware Company - Boat Division. - At right is the end of the Gladmer Theatre at 233 North Washington Avenue. Moving left, in the same building, Randall's Health Foods is at 231. Continuing south, Silver Lead Paint at 229, Western Auto Supply at 225, Emery-Pratt office equipment at 223, Epicure Tea Shop at 221, MacLaughlin Music at 219, National China at 213, and Firestone Tires at 211. The block ends with the Tussing building at West Ottawa Street, home of the Palms Theatre at 209 and the College Drugstore at 201. Buildings seen to the south include the Bank of Lansing at 101 North Washington Avenue, Prudden building on South Washington and West Michigan Avenue, and the Michigan National Tower at West Allegan Street and South Capitol Avenue. - Looking north. Taken near Ionia Street, looking to the northeast. On the the west side, to the left in the photo, are seen Dubois and Hughes seeds and sporting goods at 307-309, Columbia Studios photographers at 313, Sams at 317. The east side, to the right, is too far away to see many details. Signs are seen, however, for American Cleaners at 326, Leonard's Wholesale Distributing at 322-324, Carl's Grill at 320, and LaRowe's Sewing Center at 318. Buildings in the 400 block, beyond East Shiawassee, are in the background.
