The building at the left edge of the photograph was the Union Hotel, and the one next to it was the Odd Fellows' Hall, followed by a white wood-sided general store. Hamilton Road was formerly known as Detroit Road. This is a duplicate photograph. The original source is unknown.

- An oversized ledger containing several sections mainly to do with permits, licenses, and bonds for installing signs, or moving or demolishing property in the Lansing vicinity. Entries often contain a permitting date and number, an address (from and to, when applicable), names of owner and contractor, the cost for permit, and building or sign dimensions and type. Everything in the ledger is written by hand, and due to ink types and page damage, some parts of the records are not readable. In some cases, such as large projects by the city or the state, a ledger sheet will list a number of homes not by address, and refer to a separate list or file. These lists and files were not part of the records transfer and may have been discarded by the City at some point. - Several unidentified men and a horse and buggy in front of a wood-frame building with the name H. P. French across the awning, possibly in Charlotte, Mich. According to the 1907-1908 Michigan State Gazetteer and Business Directory, an H. P. French operated a "Coin Controlled Machine Company" in Charlotte. The same H. P. French was likely the operator of Waverly Park near Lansing in about 1912.
