Burroughs says that he is an optimist and that in next ten years he expects to be an equine surgeon practicing in Minnesota and that he hopes to start his own family.

- Dr. Donald Kaufman discusses his career as a Professor of Immunology in the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development at Michigan State University. Kaufman describes joining the department in 1971, knowing little about MSU and East Lansing, but welcoming the freedom to work as he wished. He talks about his many interests, pursuing several projects simultaneously and eventually specializing in health care policy. Kaufman recalls the efforts to establish a true university hospital at MSU and how the plan was rejected by the University administration. Kaufman also talks about teaching, his students, his colleagues, and his department's many challenges and accomplishments throughout his tenure. David J. Kallen, MSU Professor Emeritus of Sociology, conducts the interview. Part of the MSU Department of Pediatrics and Human Development Oral History Project.

- Michigan State University pre-medical junior Andy Kim talks about his childhood in Korea, immigrating to the U.S. at age 16, and settling in Battle Creek, Michigan. Kim says that his father brought the family to the U.S. for greater opportunities and hoped that his sons would become doctors. He discuses the challenges of adapting to a different culture and to life at MSU and says that he feels caught between Korea and the United States. Kim also says it is important to have a respected profession because he is not white and aspires to a life in the suburbs with cars and kids. Kim also says that he thinks about other careers and may try dental school if he fails to qualify for medical school, even though his father is very insistent that he become a doctor.

- Nineteen year old Lansing Community College freshman Tyler Ford talks about living in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia with his father who worked for an oil company and moving back to the U.S. to live in East Lansing, MI with his mother, and says that he regrets not taking full advantage of living abroad. He also discusses his parent's marriage and divorce and life at LCC saying he has remained focused in college despite the "freshman foolishness" around him. Ford sees extensive travel in his future and says that he doesn't believe that children will fit into that life style.

There were 16 slides in a box labeled "Franklin-Larch." Nothing on the individual slides distinguishes which images were taken at which school. Franklin Avenue School was located at 1100 East Franklin Avenue (later Grand River Avenue). The Larch Street School was in the 100 block of North Larch Street.
