- Sepia-toned photo of the exterior of the La Salle Garden Theatre as taken from across 14th Street. The films, "High and Dizzy," and "Guilty of Love," as well as a performance by vaudeville duo Count Perrone and Trix Oliver entitled "Song Symphony," are advertised on the marquee. A sign hung from the roof of the theater also advertises the availability of chop suey. A haberdasher is located in the storefront to the left of the theater, and several signs which read, "Kobe," are posted in the window of the storefront to the right.

- Black and white photo of the exterior of the Theatre Comique as taken from a slightly elevated position across Broadway Street, facing southwest. A crowd is gathered in the street in front of the theater around an ornate carriage driven by a man wearing a high peaked hat, and carrying a pair of passengers in dress jackets and turbans, as part of a circus parade. A sign on the top of the carriage reads, "India." A Model T is parked in the foreground. Signs on the facade of the Theatre Comique declare, "Best show in town for the money," "Stay as long as you like," and "High class continuous performance." The Kaiserhof is visible on the left side of the theatre. Signs are posted on the building to the right, on the corner of Broadway and Gratiot Avenue for the Fisher Kline Company, photographers; Union Cut Rate Dentists; John Verbist, cigars, tobacco, candy and fruit; and the Gothic bar. Along the north side of Gratiot, Lou H. Weitz, clothier; and the Library Tea Store are visible. "28," is handwritten at the upper right corner of the recto and "1909," is handwritten on the verso.

The square is filled with rows of parked early automobiles. The Pontchartrain Hotel, City Hall, the Majestic Building, the Ford Building, Dime Building, and the Michigan Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument in Campus Martius are all in view. Visible businesses include Gregg Hardware; a bar; the Gayety Theatre; the Old Kentucky Whiskey Company; the Wobrock Hotel; the American Hotel; Schroeder Paint and Glass Company; Cadillac Market; a bowling alley; McIntosh Bar; the Gregory, Mayer, and Thom Company; Home Candy Works; the Family Theatre; the Sweeney-Huston Company; Weil and Company Furniture; F.G. Clayton Company, Clothing; and Cadillac Burlesque. There are also advertisements for Calumet Baking Powder and the Ringling Brothers Circus. The word "red" above an arrow pointing to the Gregory, Mayer, and Thom Company has been added in pencil. "Gray" and an arrow have been written above City Hall. A note on the verso adds, "Gregory, Mayer and Thom Building red brick with stone trimmings," as well as "c.1913-1919."
