It is drawn at a scale of 1 inch = 200 feet and is printed in black, green, pale red, and pale yellow ink. It shows streets, houses, lots, lot numbers, water mains, commercial buildings, factories, and railroads. Inset maps of Elmwood and Mt. Elliott Cemeteries are shown in the upper left corner of the sheet. The map sheet was part of the "Atlas of the City of Detroit and Suburbs" which was published in 1885 in New York by Elisha Robinson and Roger H. Pidgeon.

The map is printed in black, blue, and red ink and shows city streets along with ward and election district boundary lines and numbers. Although a symbol key is not given, it appears that ward boundary lines and numbers are shown in red ink and election district boundary lines and numbers are shown in blue ink. The map was "compiled by Eugene Robinson" and is dated 1881. It was printed by the Calvert Lithograph Company of Detroit.
