Beside it are the Detroit Edison Company office, and the Washington Boulevard Building along the east side of Washington. Alexander Macomb Monument stands in the median of Washington. Cars and pedestrians are visible around the intersection. A shadow, presumably of a finger over the lens, is in the upper left corner of the frame.

- Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing six workers in the Station A dynamo room of the Edison Illuminating Company which was located at the southeast corner of Washington Avenue (now Boulevard) and State Street. The view shows the workmen who are seated on or standing beside two of the belt-driven dynamos that were located on the upper floor of the building. The dynamos were driven by steam engines that were located below on the ground floor. A small, oval-shaped stamp in the lower left corner of the photo shows "The Detroit Edison Company." Handwritten text on the verso shows "Dynamo Room of Edison Illuminating Co., Detroit, Mich., 1903. Lower Row (L to R): G. E. Harrison, Walter Orr, Charles Benstein. Upper Row (L to R): Aloysius J. Steinmetz, Laurence F. McHugh, Preston Chase."

The lot is surrounded by a wooden fence with a construction canopy over the sidewalk. A sign for the foundation-laying company Spencer, White, and Prentis is posted above the fence. The Detroit Commerce Building with signage on its roof for the People's Outfitting Company is visible to the east of the site along Michigan. A police officer stands in the center of the street in the foreground as a man in a boater hat crosses. An electric streetcar proceeds east on Michigan on the right side of frame. Shadow, presumably of fingers over the lens, partially obscure the Detroit Edison Company office, the Washington Boulevard Building and the Alexander Macomb Monument on the left side of frame.

The group consists of several clowns, musicians, and a pair of men in dark suits and hats. A pair of large signs promoting the film, flank the entrance, and a banner posted above reads, "William and Farnum Greatest Show on Earth, To Day, Main Entrance." A Spencer and Wyckoff Commercial Photographers stamp is on the verso.

- Photograph. Sepia-toned photo showing two employees of the Edison Illuminating Company who are seated in a company truck. The vehicle is parked beside the median on Washington Boulevard and the men are wearing heavy overcoats and hats. The vehicle is right-hand drive with the steering wheel being located on the right side. Its engine compartment is covered with an insulating blanket and the ground is lightly covered with snow. A fountain is running in the boulevard median which is creating a winter ice sculpture. The 4-story brick building in the center background area is the Edison Company building (formerly Station A of the Edison Illuminating Company) and the name is shown on a lighted sign at the corner and in stone at the top of the building. Part of St. Aloysius Catholic Church can be seen at the far left side of the photo. A date in the lower right corner of the photo shows "1-14-14." An accompanying typewritten note shows "This photograph was sent to L. C. Nanry by Jack Redfield, appliance service supervisor for Consumers Power, 9/22/58. Employees shown in truck are: driver - Joseph Henrion, passenger - Fred Lemelin."
