- Description:
- This collection consists of approximately 1,300 photographs from Lansing's City Planning Division, taken between 1912 and 1995, with the majority dating from the 1950s. It includes houses, street scenes, intersections, parking lots, signage, and some aerial views. The photographs were taken from the perspective of urban planning in most cases, so for example, a photograph of the Farm & Garden building is actually a view of cars in a parking lot behind it. Urban infrastructure seems to be the predominant purpose of the photographic documentation, which was sorted into volumes of approximately 100 images per volume, by Forest Parke Library and Archives staff.
