- On the back of the photograph: "Geo. Cross, Head Custodian after Geo. Hunt left. Died Sept.* '58 under mysterious circumstances." *Cross was found dead in October 1958 in a wooded area of Eaton Rapids, and an autopsy later ruled that his death was due to pneumonia, shock, and exposure. He had been custodian at Walter French Junior High School for 16 years.
