The assembly line is always a point of interest to visitors of the Rouge Plant. Here, on a moving conveyor, Ford cars are completely assembled, from chassis to finished car, and driven off the line under their own power. It has an area of 1,906 acres, 14 miles of roadways, 92 miles of railway track and 1 1/3 miles of docks. It includes blast furnaces, open hearth and steel mill, glass plant, foundry, paper mill, cement plant, body plant, coke ovens, power plant and motor assembly plant where new Model A engines are built. Printed on verso: DOCKS AT THE ROUGE PLANT are 1-1/3 miles long and are on the Rouge River. Here Ford ships and other Great Lakes Freighters bring in great cargoes of iron ore, coal, limestone and lumber used in the manufacture of Ford cars and trucks.
