This park is the oldest of Detroit's recreation grounds and it situated in the heart of the city through which runs the famous Woodward avenue. Grand Circus Park is one of Detroit's smallest parks. It extends in a circle on both sides of Woodward Avenue. It contains two fountain and statues and is surrounded by many of Detroit's latest skyscrapers. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked May 30, 1917.

Printed on verso: In Detroit Life is Worth Living. This floral display is located in East Grand Circus Park, the oldest of Detroit's breathing grounds, is situated almost in the center of the city's retail district. Magnificent shade trees are everywhere, real monarchs of the forest that started to grow even before a white man set his foot on what is now the State of Michigan. The Park was set aside in 1854 under the general redistricting of the city. In the foreground Detroit's slogan is brought out very prominently in beautifully colored foliage. - One postcard with a sepia-toned photographic image of the Grand Circus Park area of downtown Detroit. The postcard shows an elevated view of Grand Circus Park as seen from the Y.M.C.A. Building. Prominent buildings are visible in the background and are identified in small white printed text along the bottom of the postcard. These include the Whitney Building, Hotel Statler, Hotel Tuller, and the Kresge Building. Additional small white printed text in the lower right corner of the card reads "© '14 by C. R. Messinger." A black ink stamp on the verso shows a postmark of "Sep. 3, 1914."
