- Excavation for the new auditorium has started as seen in the photograph taken Nov. 3, 1931. Equipment includes a Gould and Cross steam shovel, a dump truck, and a trailer on caterpillar treads. Neighboring buildings include the Coney Island Lunch and part of back side of Heyman's Furniture building. The tower of the Kent County Court House is seen in the distance above the buildings.

- Laying the keystone by L. O. Sveom to “Tech” high school, later know as George Davis Vocational and Technical School. The keystone is still in suspended position. Onlookers can be seen to standing to the right and left of the stone, while a band plays. The man with white overalls is alone in front of the stonework, and has no hat. A man in business suit has his hand on the keystone wiring.

- Laying the keystone to “Tech” high school, later known as George Davis Technical High School. Partial shot of building showing two entrances with fan-shaped stonework above. The keystone above the entrance on the right is suspended in its position by a wire attached to a hook. Two men stand on scaffolding in front of the stonework on either side of the keystone, and one man is standing beside the stone, leaning on it with one elbow. The man on the left of the keystone is in white shirtsleeves and white overalls, with a bow tie and dress hat. A group of well-dressed citizens is gathered, some playing band instruments, behind the stonework over the left entrance
