- Major Watson house in the hands of the wreckers, rear view. Torn down about 1927. In this rear view, two multi-story buildings can be seen towering above the missing roof; the one to the left is marked “Metz Building.” A sign on sawhorses near the right side of the image says “Owen Ames and Kimball." An interesting architectural feature remaining on the house is a circular window on the second floor, supported by a pillar. Several workmen are standing around amid the rubble. Chutes are mounted in the 2nd floor windows.

- At the intersection of LaGrave and Oakes S.E. The one story brick building on the southeast corner of LaGrave and Oakes is the Walker & Co Advertising Signs Co., 102-04 LaGrave S.E. The Iowa four story apartment building at 148 Oakes SE is to the left of the Walker building. On the left side of the picture is the home of Mrs. Olga McKay, 78 LaGrave S.E. A For Sale sign is posted below the lower bay window. On the street are several cars, and a 2 Hour parking sign.
